10) AMD Ryzen 5 3600

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - gaming processors under 30000

At #10 comes a good low budget gaming processor AMD Ryzen 5 3600. So, why we have chosen this at number 10 is due to the following features.

In addition, it is one of the best CPUs for AMD Radeon RX 580!

KEY FEATURES

  • No of cores: 6
  • No of threads: 12
  • Integrated Graphics: No
  • Base Frequency: 3.60 GHz
  • Turbo Frequency: 4.20 GHz
  • Overclockable: Yes

The Ryzen 5 can be a very good option if you want to cut your expenses out and invest on a good compatible GPU that goes well with the low-mid budget beast.

Also check: Best CPU for RX 580!

Straight off the bat, you will get 6 cores and 12 threads with an option to overclock as per your requirements. The b ase and Turbo frequencies are on par with most of the top-end intel core processors

and enough to give you a good AAA gaming experience.

The single core and multi-core performance is very good for medium to high settings. And with the FPS ranging anywhere between 60-120.

What I love about the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 is that it makes gaming so much powerful and affordable.

PROS

  • Affordable,
  • good cost to performance ratio,

  • May heat up when overclocked.

9) AMD Ryzen 5 3600X

AMD Ryzen 5 3600X

There is not much difference between the Ryzen 5 3600 and 3600X. The X in the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X is for the X-factor that AMD wanted Ryzen 5 series to have over the previous 3600. But first we need to look at its features.

KEY FEATURES

  • No of cores: 6
  • No of threads: 12
  • Integrated Graphics: No
  • Base Frequency: 3.80 GHz
  • Turbo Frequency: 4.40 GHz
  • Overclockable: Yes
  • Cache: 35 MB
  • TDP: 95 W

As you can infer from the features that the difference really lies only in the clock frequencies. What it means is that it gives slightly good CPU performance over the Ryzen 5 3600.

Related: Best CPUs for AMD Radeon RX 570!

To be precise, 6% better than the 3600. This, in turn, gives you a more capable CPU, in a sense, that it is a bit of a future-proof option.

But, the extra cost you are going to pay is, in my opinion, not that bad.

PROS

  • Affordable,
  • good cost to performance ratio,
  • overclockable.

CONS

  • Chokes at Ultra settings,
  • No integrated graphics card,
  • May heat up when overclocked.

8) AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT

 AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT

The AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT is somewhat identical to the Ryzen 5 3600X. Everything remains identical. You can see six cores, 12 threads, missing integrated GPU, overclockable, and the same cache size.

So, why choose AMD Ryzen 3600XT?

Confused? Let me explain.

KEY FEATURES

  • No of cores: 6
  • No of threads: 12
  • Integrated Graphics: No
  • Base Frequency: 3.80 GHz
  • Turbo Frequency: 4.50 GHz
  • Overclockable: Yes
  • Cache: 35 MB
  • TDP: 95 W

The Ryzen 5 3600XT has slightly better overclocking capacities. Even at low power supply, the CPU is capable of overclocking more than other Ryzen 5 counter processors. This can certainly come in handy when gaming at high to ultra settings. Or when you want to squeeze extra performance out of your CPU.

But, Is the Ryzen 5 3600XT worth it?

Yes. The AMD Ryzen 5 3600XT is worth it only if you are getting it at a price similar to that of Ryzen 5 3600. It is not worth it to pay extra bucks for a slight difference in overclocking speeds.

I repeat, do not buy Ryzen 5 3600XT by paying more than the worth price.

Remember, a slight difference is better but you also need to consider the cost factor.

PROS

  • good cost to performance ratio,
  • overclockable,
  • Slightly better overclocking capacities than Ryzen 5 3600,

CONS

  • Chokes at Ultra settings,
  • No integrated graphics card,

  • Cache: 12 MB
  • TDP: 65 W

Does the missing overclocking feature limits the performance of i7 9700F?

The Intel core i7 9700F dominates single core performance. And the eight cores provides enough power that you can smoothly play your favourite AAA and FPS games on the highest possible settings given that you have a decent GPU.

The only place where the i7 9700F struggles is the multicore performance. That means it not that efficient in heavy CPU tasks like video editing as it simply lacks hyper-threading.

However when we talk of gaming on the 9700F, it is actually very powerful and fun. Lack of hyper-threading or overclocking is not a significant factor as the single core performance dominates here.

So, if you are someone with low to moderate CPU intensive tasks and have high gaming expectations, go with the Intel Core i7 9700F.

And for those of you with high CPU intensive tasks, consider going with the Intel Core i5 10600K.

PROS

  • Affordable,
  • Extra cores,
  • good cost to performance ratio.

CONS

  • Chokes at Ultra settings,
  • Not overclockable,
  • No integrated graphics card,
  • May heat up when overclocked.

I tried the 10600K on my friend’s PC and I can surely tell you one thing. It rose above my expectation and proved better than 9600K and the Ryzen 5 series in most of the benchmarks. In a few of the tests, Ryzen 5 series took a lead. But there is no way I will buy Ryzen 5 after using the 10600K.

There is a clear and simple explanation to it. In two words, improved performance.

Trying out several games like Project cars, Battlefield V, RDR 2, GTA V, Valorant, CS:GO, COD: Warzone, I feel the clear winner is 10600k with fantastic clock speeds and power.

If you don’t believe me, here are the benchmarks from one of the best YT channel. See for yourself. Only thing I see as a turn off is the price of the Intel’s 10600K. That’s why it is not the number one gaming processor in our list.

The Intel Core i7 10700 is loaded with eight cores and sixteen threads. This means you can easily handle CPU heavy tasks and multi-task very smoothly. If you look at it as a desktop CPU, it will manage your everyday tasks without compromises.

Next, for gaming purposes, I consider 10700 a very good option. You can easily play any of your favourite games in high to ultra settings with little to no compromise on the FPS. I, recently, tried this gaming CPU but I thought the price you pay is a little extra for what you can get out of it. Yes, the CPU is near to great but the price is not. At such a huge price, a guy like me would prefer going the Intel i7 9700.

That’s just me!

Intel could have made the price a little more competitive considering the competition it receives from the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X in the gaming department.

The difference in performance is little but the difference in the prices takes a huge leap.

  • Cache: 35 MB
  • TDP: 65 W

The AMD Ryzen 5 5600X comes equipped with six cores and 12 threads with clock frequencies lying between 3.7 GHz and 4.60 GHz. Compared to 10700, very similar features. The only being being the ability to overclock the CPU. You have the option here to overclock the CPU as per your choice whenever required.

The performance is slightly better but the difference is not huge. You cannot really tell until a dedicated CPU benchmark is performed and compared on single core, multi core and various AAA heavy titles. Only then, you can see that the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X has an upper hand over the Intel’s core i7 10700 as per most tests.

Lastly, I think 5600X’s low cost, great performance and high cost to performance ratio makes it a fit choice over all the gaming CPU under 30000 we’ve seen so far.
